The new KOSO INFRARED GAUGE is a great tool for racers who want to monitor centrifugal clutch temp to know if they have clutch slippage during a race.
Gauge has a Voltmeter, MAX Temp recall and Over Temp warning.
Over the last 20 plus years of working with 120 racers, one of the most common questions that we are asked, is how can I tell if my drive clutch is slipping.
The answer to the question is (HEAT).
Even though some of the heat that the drive clutch absorbs is from the engine via the crankshaft the temps are usually not high 120 to 140F which will not affect clutch performance.
The biggest cause is friction or lack of, is when the drive clutch shoes cannot stay locked up to the clutch drum slippage occurs which causes more HEAT and over time this heat can cause springs to fatigue.
There are many reasons for clutch slippage, poor engine performance, to fast of gearing, drive train friction, etc.
Remember cool clutch is a fast clutch
There is only one way to monitor drive clutch heat that is with an INFRARED TEMP gauge.
KIT comes with, gauge, Infrared sensor and 9-volt battery box to power gauge.
This tool is a must have for the serious racers. ISR LEGAL
P.S. it works on Drive belts to.
