120/200 Buyer's Guide

Our buyers guide page is designed to help you choose the right products for your 120 or 200 snowmobile. Whether this is your first time buying parts or you are a customer already, this page should help you make an educated decision on what to buy.

All of our kits where developed to give you good all around performance, along with the ability to upgrade to the next level using as many of your current parts as possible.

HORSE POWER IS THE KEY TO SPEED!

You will see that all of our kits from the Basic to the Big Boy use a Power Intake Kit which comes with an adjustable main jet to correct the lean fuel condition that 120's have from the factory a velocity stack to give the engine more air then the restrictive factory air box and a governor spring for more rpm's. A governor spring by itself ONLY gives you more rpm's not more HP. Our # 1 tech call goes like this (I just put a governor spring and a faster gear on my 120 and now the sled won't move or takes off slow)WHY the answer is you need more HP. Governor springs give more rpm's, Power Intake Kits give you more HP.

WHAT FITS WHAT?

POLARIS Engine brand Robin. Stock gearing is 10 clutch and 42 rear sprocket, 4.20 Gear Ratio with #40 chain. (Note) #420 chain will not fit a stock Polaris clutch.

All 2000 and newer XC/XCR/EDGE Polaris 120s use the same engine and chassis parts, the only difference was color of plastic and decals.

ARCTIC CAT Engine brand 2000 to 2009 Suzuki, 2010 and newer Yamaha Stock gearing is 10 clutch and 45 rear sprocket, 4.50 Gear Ratio with #420 chain.
Year 2000 Arctic Cat Z120 came with fiberglass leaf springs in the rear and front suspensions of the chassis.

Year 2001 to 2005 Arctic Cat Z/ZR/SNO PRO eliminated the fiberglass leafs and went to shocks and coil springs on the suspension, a new camshaft and valve springs were added for more power. All the parts on these years are the same the only difference is plastic color and decals.

Year 2006 upgraded to new heavy duty front shocks everything else stayed the same from 2001 to 2009

Year 2010 to 2023 has Yamaha engine, all other components the same 2001 to 2017.

Year 2018 and newer uses a different track and driver.

YAMAHA Engine brand Yamaha, Stock gearing is 10 clutch and 45 rear sprocket, 4.50 Gear Ratio # 420 chain.

Everything else the same as 2010 to 2017 Arctic Cat except color and brand name.

Year 2018 and newer uses a different track and driver.

SKIDOO Engine brand Honda, Stock gearing 10 clutch and 48 rear sprocket, 4.80 Gear Ratio # 420 chain.

Year 1999 to 2002 Skidoo Mini Z had no front suspension and a thinner track and the rear suspension did not use hyfax.

Year 2003 to 2008 (end of build) Skidoo Mini Rev came out with new style track that had track clips, hyfax on slide rails and front shocks, this model also had a new body style even though the main tunnel and bulk head was the same as earlier Mini Z. All years of Skidoo parts interchange except for rear suspension and front shocks.

Year 2023 and newer MXZ 120 uses the same parts as a current Yamaha SRX 120 and Arctic Cat ZR 120. The only difference is the hood.

Beginner Speed Kit

If your rider is asking for more power and you want to take the move to the next level this is a very nice kit. The "BEGINNER SPEED KIT" is exactly what it says it is. It is the next level for a beginner. It will allow you to an upgrade on your own with out damaging the wallet.

Kit includes: Power Intake Kit which comes with and adjustable main jet to correct the lean fuel condition that 120's have from the factory, a Velocity Stack to give the engine more air then the restrictive factory air box, and the correct Governor Spring for more RPM's, a Rear Sprocket that works with your current stock chain and a Master Link

This Speed Kit was named for the type of rider you have. If your child is AGGRESSIVE and you need to jump up to the next level in speed and power, we've created the AGGRESSOR SPEED KIT" for you. Not only will it allow your child to hit the speed they want, it is upgradable to many stages.

Kit Includes: Power Intake Kit which comes with an adjustable main jet to correct the lean fuel condition that 120's have from the factory, a Velocity Stack to give the engine more air then the restrictive factory air box, and the correct Governor Spring for more RPM's, a Standard Upgrade Replacement Clutch, Quick Change Hub, #35 Sprocket and Chain.

The Big Boy Power and Speed kit is designed to help you get the most out of your stock sled. It includes everything you'll need in one package. We give you different gearing options as well as a Tunable Exhaust for best performance. You can easily set up a stock sled with the power for the hills or speed for lake crossing or trails.

Kit includes: The Dominator Clutch, 2 #35 Sprockets for the best of both worlds, Quick Change Hub, Chain Tensioner, Power Intake Kit which comes with an adjustable main jet to correct the lean fuel condition that 120's have from the factory, a Velocity Stack to give the engine more air then the restrictive factory air box, and the correct Governor Spring for more RPM's and a Tunable Exhaust Pipe that has been designed with specific diameter and length to allow you to get optimal performance.

Finding Gear Ratio

The number of teeth on rear sprocket divided by number of teeth on clutch drum. Example: (52 rear/10 drum=5.20 Ratio) The higher the ratio number, the more power you will have and the less speed you will have. The lower the ratio number, the more speed you have and less power.
